The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

SAI International School is the first School in the State to team up with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for lending support in the Plastic Waste Management of Bhubaneswar City.

The School becomes part of the unique initiative launched in Odisha collaboratively by UNDP, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages to put in place a sustainable Plastic Waste Management system in Bhubaneswar.

The programme will be implemented at SAI in three stages, which includes creating awareness of students and parents, implementation of recycle bins and later creating a recycling centre.

Student’s Awareness, the first stage of implementation was initiated by Ms.Nadia Rasheed, Deputy Resident Representative, UNDP India and Shri Prabhjot Sodhi, Head – Circular Economy, UNDP, on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 in the school premises. The team created awareness among students on the hazards of plastic pollution and encouraged them to recycle plastic waste.
